South University named Todd Cellini as Campus President for the university's campus on Mall Boulevard in Savannah. Cellini has been serving as Interim President since July.
"Mr. Cellini has demonstrated remarkable leadership as Acting President and completed the university's leadership development program," said John T. South, chancellor of South University. "He has built rapport with our faculty and staff, and I looking forward to seeing our campus in Savannah continue growing and meeting the needs of students here in our community."
Cellini has been with South University since June 2008 as the Dean of Student Affairs. His career in higher education began eight years ago at Binghamton University in New York.
He worked as Resident Director at Oswego State University (SUNY), as Residence Life Coordinator at the University of South Carolina, and he held the position of Director of Student Activities for Sullivan County Community College in New York.
"Cellini has a great deal of experience working with students who are new to the university environment," said J. Michael Brooks, Ph.D., dean of the college of arts and sciences. "Most freshman begin taking core curriculum courses in the College of Arts & Sciences, and we know how critical that first-year experience is in establishing a foundation that leads to student learning and, ultimately, graduation."
A graduate of Binghamton University, Cellini holds two bachelor's degrees in Geography and Environmental Studies, as well as a master's degree in Social Science with a concentration in Student Affairs. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University.
