Description

South University’s Columbia campus began serving South Carolina students in 2002, when the campus was located in downtown Columbia at 3810 Main Street. In 2006 the campus relocated to the Carolina Research Park on the northeast side, conveniently near the I-77 and Highway 277. The campus is equipped with a wide array of technology including Macintosh and PC labs, video-conferencing tools, medical and nursing labs, and access to a variety of research databases. In 2009 the campus expanded by adding a new School of Pharmacy building and offering the Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Student Profile

The campus had a Fall 2010 enrollment of 1,544 students and a Spring 2011 enrollment of 1,427 with over 100 faculty members. Approximately 9 percent of students are pursuing associate’s degrees, 66 percent bachelor’s degrees, 21 percent master’s degrees, and 4 percent doctoral degrees. The students are young professionals, average age 31, seeking to advance or begin new careers.
