Sunday, June 24, 2007

As South University approaches its one year anniversary in Tampa, it is expanding its campus program offerings with the introduction of a new Bachelor of Business Administration degree program. Classes will begin Summer Quarter - June 28, 2007.

"South University continues to grow as it marks the one-year anniversary of the opening of its Tampa campus," says Dr. Dan Coble, president of South University Tampa. "This new business degree will combine classes that focus on real-world issues with a sound foundation in critical business skills necessary to be successful in today's competitive marketplace."

The addition of the new Bachelor of Business Administration program provides Tampa Bay area students with an additional option to consider when selecting a university to continue their education.

The core of the program is designed to prepare graduates to enter a variety of management positions in business, education, healthcare, government, or manufacturing. With more than two thirds of classes within the program focusing on the major preparing them to either begin a new career or advance in their current position.

"This program is perfect for both traditional high school seniors considering college and working professionals that want an education that will prepare them for advancement," says Dr. Coble. "When considering their choices, South University will stand out due to its unique curriculum and size."

While in the program, students will explore the principles of accounting, finance, management, economics, and consumer behavior. The goal of the program is to provide a practical working background that prepares the graduate for an entry-level management position. At the conclusion of their program, students will put their knowledge to the test as they compete in a real-world business simulation. Students will create and operate a simulated business in a selected industry testing their four years of business education by actually utilizing their skills before they leave the classroom.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program is the fourth program to be offered at South University's Tampa campus. In addition to this new program, South University also offers a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), a RN to BSN degree completion program and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science.
