South University has announced that the institution is opening a School of Pharmacy at their Columbia campus, which is in the Carolina Research Park located off Interstate Highway 77 at the Farrow Road exit. The School of Pharmacy will offer an accelerated three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program (Pharm.D.) that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). This is the third Doctor of Pharmacy program in South Carolina and received recent approval by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education matriculate students in June of 2010.
South University is accepting applications through PharmCas for the School of Pharmacy’s Class of 2013, which begins on June 14, 2010. The application deadline for the class is February 1, 2010. The program is highly competitive and expects to seat 65 students in the inaugural class in South Carolina.
